Data Governance Consultant

Confiz is searching for a Data Governance consultant to join our team and play a pivotal role in helping our clients establish robust data governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data management principles, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. This individual will collaborate with clients to define data governance strategies, processes, and policies, ultimately driving data quality and integrity within their organizations.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to assess their current data governance maturity and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop comprehensive data governance strategies that align with the client's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Define clear data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles within the organization.
• Create and implement data governance processes, including data quality management, data lineage, metadata management, and data retention policies.
• Develop standardized data definitions, classification, and categorization frameworks.
• Draft and implement data governance policies that address data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Develop a detailed roadmap for data governance implementation, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Provide guidance on the prioritization of data governance initiatives based on business value and risk.:
• Assist clients in implementing data governance tools and technologies.
• Provide training and support to data stewards and data owners to ensure effective adoption of data governance practices.
• Monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data governance policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data governance or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data quality, metadata, and data security.
• Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks for large enterprises.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to data governance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
• Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, IBM Information Governance).
