We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead technical excellence and innovation across our enterprise systems. In this role, you will define, design, and deliver scalable, reliable solutions aligned with business goals. You will shape architectural standards, lead platform engineering initiatives, and mentor teams, ensuring continuous improvement and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
Your expertise in microservices, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture will drive transformational change, while your leadership in both platform and front-end engineering will enable seamless integration of digital products across web, mobile, and API channels. You will implement micro-frontend architectures, design systems, and drive API-first initiatives to enhance collaboration and accelerate development cycles.

Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Vision: Define and uphold enterprise application architectures that align with organizational objectives, focusing on scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability.
- System Design & Delivery: Lead the design and development of distributed, fault-tolerant systems capable of handling large data volumes and high traffic, while ensuring quality attributes such as performance, security, and maintainability.
- Data Strategy & Engineering: Build scalable data pipelines and frameworks to efficiently ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets, leveraging modern tools and technologies.
- Technology Enablement: Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing, integration, and deployment, driving efficiency and maintaining high-quality code standards.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and adherence to best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, Data Providers, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs, driving value-driven outcomes.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs) to evaluate emerging technologies, offering actionable recommendations for their inclusion in the technology roadmap.
- Standards & Best Practices: Establish and document architectural standards, design patterns, and development best practices, ensuring consistency and scalability across teams and projects.
- Innovation & Research: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, integrating new tools and methodologies to maintain competitive, cutting-edge systems.
- Organizational Influence: Act as a strategic advisor, shaping the technical direction, driving transformation initiatives, and ensuring alignment between technology and business goals.
Qualifications
- Expertise: Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering large-scale software products, with strong hands-on experience in microservices architecture (particularly with Spring Boot).
- Cloud Technologies: Proficient in designing solutions across cloud technologies (preferably Azure), including infrastructure and application architecture, ensuring both functional and non-functional requirements are met.
- Enterprise Architecture: Demonstrated success in leading enterprise architecture transformations, creating clear roadmaps to transition to scalable and future-ready environments.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a history of diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges, delivering robust, high-quality solutions.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to technical teams, executives, and non-technical stakeholders, building trust and driving consensus.
- Development Processes: Broad knowledge of the software development lifecycle, with expertise in modern development practices such as Agile and DevOps.
- Collaboration & Influence: Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams, driving alignment and achieving organizational impact.

Platform Engineering Leadership
- Designed and scaled developer platforms that provide self-service capabilities, reusable services, and secure delivery pipelines.
- Architected platforms that support digital products across multiple channels (web, mobile, APIs), ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.

Front-End Platform Engineering
- Expertise in front-end architecture for large-scale digital applications and mobile apps (React, Angular, Vue, Kotlin, Swift, etc.).
- Implemented micro-frontend architectures, design system libraries, and component platforms (e.g., Storybook, Bit, NX) to promote consistency and reuse.
- Experience in Web Performance Optimization, client-side observability (RUM, Core Web Vitals), and secure delivery (CSP, SSO, JWT).

API-Driven Design
- Led API-first initiatives, enabling front-end teams to iterate independently with robust GraphQL/REST interfaces and API gateways.
- Advocated for contract-driven development and used mocking tools to accelerate UI development cycles.
Requirements
- A BS/BA Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10-15 years of industry experience, with in-depth knowledge of a wide range of technology stacks for software development.
- At least 12 years of experience in software/digital engineering roles with increasing technical scope.
- Proven track record in enterprise-scale digital modernization or greenfield platform build-outs.
