We are seeking a Palantir Foundry ETL/ELT Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines within the Palantir platform. This role requires not only deep technical expertise in Foundry and modern data engineering practices but also strong team leadership skills and experience in developing resources, mentoring others, and driving data initiatives across teams.

This is a senior-level position ideal for a results-driven engineer who thrives at the intersection of hands-on development, strategic planning, and team enablement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines that facilitate the seamless ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from various sources (on-premises and cloud-based) into the Palantir platform.
  • Key responsibilities and areas of expertise include:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Creating and managing ETL processes to extract data from diverse internal and external sources, ensuring proper formatting, cleansing, and enrichment for downstream use.
  • Expertise in Palantir Foundry pipeline development, leveraging Python for data transformation and integration tasks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilizing tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, and ETL frameworks, with a solid understanding of data modeling and metadata management.
  • Data Modeling: Developing data models, ontologies, and metadata management strategies to support analytical and operational use cases.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Overseeing data pipelines to maintain operational reliability and performance, performing regular updates, and optimizing processes for efficiency.
  • Data Governance: Implementing and enforcing data governance best practices, including metadata management and access controls within Palantir Foundry.
  • Cloud Integration: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrating data from various data sources, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting their technical growth and onboarding. Contribute to the development of team capabilities by establishing best practices, documentation, and training resources.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience integrating machine learning models into Foundry pipelines.
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) in addition to Azure.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, supporting technical onboarding and growth, and contributing to team development through the establishment of best practices, documentation, and training resources.
