Cypress Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cypress Automation Engineer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team and contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our applications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with Cypress, proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, and a deep understanding of test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipeline integration, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for web applications.
• Write automation scripts differentiating between smoke, sanity, and regression tests.
• Implement end-to-end (E2E), regression, functional, and UI testing using Cypress.
• Optimize test execution speed and reliability within the Cypress framework.
• Ensure the reusability, maintainability, and scalability of automated test scripts.
• Integrate Cypress tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance automated test execution within deployment pipelines.
• Ensure parallel execution and test reporting for efficient test coverage.
• Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to align on test strategies.
• Conduct code reviews and peer testing to maintain high-quality test automation standards.
• Good level of understanding of QA process, Test planning, Test case generation and Defect management (JIRA or Test Rail).
• Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Perform root cause analysis for test failures and collaborate with developers on fixes.

Requirements:

• Atleast 3-4 years of experience in test automation using Cypress and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in Cypress for automated UI and E2E testing.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills.
• Experience in integrating Cypress with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub
• Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Working knowledge of Test Management Tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Understanding of DOM structure, selectors, and browser debugging tools.
• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Mocha, Chai, Jest) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance best practices.
