QA Automation Engineer (Katalon)

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in Katalon Studio to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, ensuring product quality through rigorous test automation, and working closely with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Katalon Studio (Web and API).
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and manual QA engineers to define clear acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Perform API testing using tools like Katalon, Postman, and Seleniuim.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and provide detailed reports on defects and test coverage.
• Continuously enhance automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
• Contribute to test planning, estimation, and documentation of test strategies and approaches.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of overall experience in Software Testing, with at least 3+ years in test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience in Katalon Studio (Web UI, API, Mobile).
• Proficiency in Groovy/Java scripting for test automation.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, etc.).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, TestRail).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Exposure to Appium, or other automation frameworks.
• Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• API automation experience beyond Katalon (e.g., RestAssured, Karate).
