Overview:

CONSULTFIZ LATAM, a wholly owned subsidiary of Confiz LLC, is seeking an we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Level IV) with deep experience building workflow orchestration and distributed systems using Temporal.io. This role is ideal for an engineer who has designed or implemented orchestrators in Java (or .NET) and enjoys working at the intersection of reliability, scalability, and automation.

You will play a key role in designing and building a mission-critical orchestration platform using Temporal.io, integrated with event-driven systems and cloud-native infrastructure. Strong experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices is essential, along with a proven background in testing-heavy, enterprise environments.

Engineers who began their careers in test or quality engineering and transitioned into software engineering often excel in this role due to the emphasis on automation, reliability, and system correctness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build a workflow orchestrator using Temporal.io in Java
  • Develop scalable, fault-tolerant integrations using event-driven architectures (Kafka)
  • Deploy, operate, and support services in Kubernetes environments
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and foundational infrastructure
  • Develop acceptance, integration, and load test suites to ensure system reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and design reviews
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex system issues and drive long-term automation improvements
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the team’s technical bar
  • Apply and advocate for secure coding practices and cloud security fundamentals

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java, including Spring-based applications
  • Hands-on experience building or operating Temporal.io workflows (recent, real-world usage required)
  • Experience designing orchestrators or workflow-based systems
  • Strong experience with Kafka and asynchronous messaging patterns
  • Practical experience deploying and supporting services in Kubernetes
  • DevOps mindset with experience building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up
  • Advanced experience with automated testing frameworks, including:
    • Cucumber / Gherkin (BDD)
    • Integration testing
    • Load or performance testing (e.g., Artillery)
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ownership of complex systems
  • Communication: Professional conversational English both verbally and written

 

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Deep expertise with the Temporal.io framework
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience with Docker and containerized workloads
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and best practices
  • Experience with observability tools such as New Relic
  • Background in test engineering or quality engineering

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
