Confiz is seeking a Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Associate to join our client's Research & Development (R&D) function. This role represents an elevated assignment level within the Scientific & Regulatory Affairs team, carrying increased responsibility, broader business impact, and expanded accountability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong regulatory proficiency, scientific acumen, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to compliance, innovation, and business growth. This individual may also provide guidance or informal leadership to other associates while supporting both local and global regulatory initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of products, including:
    • On-pack and off-pack nutrition information approval
    • Ingredient declarations and claims substantiation
    • Verification of approved ingredient usage
    • Product registration and packaging compliance
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure product and labeling compliance
  • Support regulatory strategy for new product launches, reformulations, and packaging updates
  • Monitor and assess food regulations impacting company products
  • Conduct horizon scanning of emerging science and regulations related to health, nutrition, food safety, and sustainability
  • Establish and maintain scientific networks to support regulatory strategy
  • Manage scientific research programs aligned with health, nutrition, and sustainability objectives
  • Develop and maintain internal regulatory governance standards, policies, and compliance frameworks
  • Conduct regulatory risk assessments and provide solutions-oriented recommendations
  • Maintain documentation and compliance records in accordance with governance standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Legal teams
  • Provide guidance and support to junior associates and cross-functional partners as needed

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
  • 1–2 years of regulatory experience (required)
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience in a regulated industry such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, dietary supplements, or home products (required)
  • Direct food regulatory experience (preferred)
  • Exposure to global regulatory frameworks (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and compliance capabilities
  • Collaborative, solutions-driven mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with regulatory databases or compliance management systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge of global labeling standards
