Backend Engineer Level IV - Java (AWS & Kafka)

CONSULTFIZ LATAM, a fully owned subsidiary of Confiz LLC, is looking for a Backend Engineer with strong experience in Java-based systems and modern cloud technologies. This role focuses on building scalable and high-performance backend systems supporting Supply Chain and warehouse management platforms, leveraging microservices architecture, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure, working with a Fortune 500 retail client.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems supporting Supply Chain services and warehouse management systems.
• Participate in design, architecture, and implementation of scalable software solutions solving complex problems.
• Define, scope, and estimate work items and technical deliverables.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Maintain high standards for system design and technical documentation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including frontend, product, and DevOps.
• Implement and manage microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Ensure system reliability, observability, and performance optimization.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.

Core Skill Set / Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of professional hands-on experience in software development
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Experience with messaging/streaming platforms (Kafka preferred)
• Strong experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools (GitLab, GitHub, Terraform)
• Experience with test automation (Unit, Integration, Regression, Performance/Load testing)
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (New Relic, Splunk)
• Experience supporting 24x7 on-call environments
• Strong understanding of software design principles and system architecture

Nice to Have

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
• Prior experience in Supply Chain or warehouse management systems
• Understanding of modern warehouse management systems (WMS)

 

Education - B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or comparable experience.
