Senior Java Engineer IV (Temporal Framework)

CONSULTFIZ LATAM, a fully owned subsidiary of Confiz LLC, is looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer in Mexico with 7+ years of professional software engineering experience. We are seeking engineers with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, the Temporal Framework (https://temporal.io), microservices, and AWS to join a high-impact project for a Fortune 500 retail client.

About the Role

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will join a team responsible for building mission-critical integrations for a Fortune 500 retail client. You'll design and develop scalable cloud-native services while collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance enterprise solutions.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex distributed systems challenges, building resilient microservices, and working with modern cloud technologies, including the Temporal Framework (https://temporal.io).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop distributed workflows using the Temporal Framework.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Build and maintain automated acceptance and integration test suites.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Apply secure coding principles and cloud-native development practices.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience developing applications using the Temporal Framework.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Kafka/ Rabbit MQ or SQS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Experience deploying applications to AWS.
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Test Automation Engineer.
• Experience building Acceptance and Integration Test Suites.
• Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Experience with Artillery for load testing.
• Experience with New Relic.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
