Confiz is seeking a User Experience Designer makes the Databricks platform's governance and AI capabilities usable by the business. This role designs user-friendly, scalable experiences that turn complex platform capabilities governance, data readiness, quality scorecards, and self-service AI/BI into simple, role-aware experiences that drive business adoption. The Designer translates prototype AI use cases into user journeys, wireframes, and experience and front-end specifications, partners closely with stakeholders and engineers to keep solutions simple and reusable, and ensures every experience aligns to enterprise design patterns and AI-Nativity best practices and standards.

Responsibilities

Experience Design for Governance & AI Enablement

  • Design user-friendly, scalable experiences for governance portals, quality scorecards, data readiness workflows, and self-service AI/BI tools built on the Databricks platform.
  • Reduce the friction between business users and platform capabilities — making access requests, data discovery, quality visibility, and AI/BI consumption intuitive for non-technical audiences.
  • Design role-aware experiences that present the right capabilities, data, and actions to each persona (business consumer, data owner, analyst, steward, platform team) while respecting the platform's security and governance model.
  • Champion adoption: identify usability barriers through research and feedback, and iterate designs to measurably improve uptake of governed self-service.

Use Case Translation & Design Artifacts

  • Translate prototype AI use cases into concrete design artifacts: user journeys, task flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and experience specifications.
  • Produce front-end specifications detailed enough for engineers to build from — layouts, components, states, content, and interaction behavior — and stay engaged through build to resolve design questions.
  • Map end-to-end journeys that span multiple touchpoints (e.g., from data discovery through readiness resolution to AI/BI consumption) so experiences feel connected rather than tool-by-tool.
  • Maintain a library of design artifacts and templates that make each new use case faster to design and deliver.

Stakeholder & Engineering Partnership

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand user needs, validate designs, and co-create solutions; participate in discovery sessions alongside the Databricks Architect and Lead AI/BI Engineer where user experience is in scope.
  • Work day-to-day with platform and AI/BI engineers to ensure designs are feasible, implemented faithfully, and refined based on technical constraints and user feedback.
  • Facilitate design reviews, usability walkthroughs, and feedback loops with users and stakeholders throughout delivery.
  • Advocate for simplicity and reuse — pushing back on one-off complexity and steering solutions toward shared, repeatable experience patterns.

Design Standards, Reusability & AI-Nativity

  • Align all experiences to enterprise design patterns, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines; contribute improvements back to the enterprise design system.
  • Establish reusable experience patterns and components for the Databricks experience portfolio (portals, scorecards, workflows, AI/BI surfaces) so new experiences are consistent by default.
  • Ensure experiences meet AI-Nativity best practices and standards — designing for natural-language interaction, AI-assisted workflows, transparency of AI-generated results, appropriate trust cues, and graceful handling of uncertainty and errors.
  • Design responsibly for AI experiences: clear affordances for what users can ask, visibility into data sources and confidence, and safeguards that reinforce (not obscure) governance and PII protections.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in UX/product design, with a portfolio demonstrating enterprise, data, or analytics product experiences shipped to production.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical domains (data platforms, governance, analytics) into simple experiences for business users.
  • Strong command of core UX methods: user research, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
  • Experience producing developer-ready design and front-end specifications, and working embedded with engineering teams through delivery.
  • Experience designing role-based experiences and working within (and contributing to) enterprise design systems and patterns.
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) for flows, wireframes, prototypes, and specs.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills with both business stakeholders and engineers.
